Benedict Romain
Sculptor
Location: UK

Benedict Romain creates classical style sculptures. It challenges the contrasting contexts in which we perceive gender and sexual imagery. By referencing Greek myths in relation to sexuality and contemporary psychology. A network of both communicating and opposing concepts is forming as a platform for debate.
Collaboration with Bruno Jamaica representing Transition Collective. They met in 2011 by exhibiting with the collective. They immediately found inspiration in each other’s work. Their contrasting styles work together perfectly to form high impact installations. Using classical ideals to tackle contemporary issues. With an aesthetic result which covers the whole extent of the history of art. Joint exhibitions: Santorini Biennial, Santorini, Greece, 2012 ‘The Nest’ at Vibe Gallery. Bermondsey, London 2012 ‘Art Extravaganza’ at Action and Power Gallery. Stoke Newington, London 2012 Arbeit Gallery, Old Street, London 2012.
