Damian Ortega
Visual artist
Location: Mexico

Damian Ortega‘s work includes sculptures, multimedia installations, photographs and videos. The artist addresses themes of materiality and form, function and obsolescence, a myriad of forces that shape our contemporary industrial environment. Ortega often literally deconstructs commercial products to reveal their constituent parts or constructs simple forms in technically complicated ways. In these deconstructed objects, Ortega reveals the hidden mechanisms and possibilities of everyday objects while framing their social connotations.
