The museum presents the first retrospective in Spain on Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986). Through a selection of around 90 works. The visitor enters the pictorial world of a creative figure. Considered one of the main representatives of American art of the twentieth century.
The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of O’Keeffe’s career. Ranging from works produced between 1910 and 1920. Works that made her a pioneer of abstraction to her famous floral paintings and views of New York. Which have earned him recognition as one of the key figures. in modern American art. And culminating in his paintings of New Mexico which stem from his fascination with the landscape. The cultural mix characteristic of this remote region.
Georgia O’Keeffe is organized by the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. The Centre Pompidou. The Beyeler Foundation, in partnership with the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe, New Mexico. After being seen in Madrid, the exhibition travels to Paris and Basel.
