Ecological awareness.
Because of his criticism of American consumer society, he did not really gain a foothold there. He returned to Germany and has lived in Cologne since 1990. Schult works in the Pop Art tradition. His work is influenced by commercial advertising and a critical view of consumerism and is sometimes compared to that of Christo and Jeff Koons. Schult describes himself as a strong proponent of the “new ecological consciousness” and has been called a “pioneer of eco-art” by the Washington Post.
