Aisha Rosli “Black eye”
Cuturi Gallery – January 23 to February 21, 2021 Singapore
The Cuturi Gallery is proud to present Black Eye, the highly anticipated solo exhibition of Aisha Rosli (b.1997, Singapore). In this series of works in progress. Rosli transmits and gives form to the complex and balanced sense of being. Exposing an intimate lens in his exploration of the human condition and experience.
Referring to the 20th century painters Francis Bacon and Egon Schiele. As well as to contemporaries like Marlène Dumas. Rosli works in the tradition of figurative painting. Animated by a mode of questioning attached to our bodily presence. Exploring the themes of loneliness. Concealment. Closeness and desire. It presents characters inhabiting constructed scenes and situations that lean towards the strange.
