Liu Bolin (1973) is still young on the performance scene but tends towards growing and international success. Graduated in 2001 from the CAFA sculpture department. Bolin conducts his performances by playing with the body as if they were living sculptures. He is interested in the question of the body in the social environment: how to blend in or, on the contrary, stand out in a given socio-cultural landscape. In his “Camouflage” series, he therefore always works according to the site in which he conducts his performances, taking into account the visual and emotional elements as well as the social codes which appear in these places.
