Monica Van Asperen was born in Buenos Aires in 1962. She studied music, mathematics. Architecture. Design. Visual communication, painting and aesthetics. His first works date from the early 90s. Van Asperen studied the use of unconventional materials, leaning towards the exploration of a spatial, temporal and sonic dimension in each work. In 2000, she presented in the ICI works in blown glass and a series of photos with a strong visual impact. His works invade space with an atmosphere that challenges spatio-temporal limits. But the constant that Van Asperen works, in turn presents a reflection of the body. She uses photography to investigate human relationships through theater. Also, she explored other ways of materializing her work such as sculptures, objects and drawings. She has worked as a teacher in national and international institutes and universities. Currently she lives and works in Buenos Aires.
