Naoko Ito is a Japanese artist based in New York. His works, between installations. Videos and sculptures, have been exhibited in the United States and Japan. His new project “Urban Nature” is inspired by the relationship between man and nature.
Naoko cut the branches of a tree into several pieces to place them in glass jars. The tree is thus reconstructed through the glass. The use of these two elements symbolizes the tension between nature and culture. Naoko is also inspired by the way people try to tame nature. And this particularly in urban areas. Aisi, it is mastered to adapt to humans.
