Salman Khoshroo, born in 1983, spent his childhood in New York. After a few intermittent years in Iran, he went to study at Australian National University. Then he graduated in digital art. Since moving to Iran and making art in his studio in Tehran.
Khoshroo uses a palette knife and heavy coats of paint to create the moving portraits. From a piece of paint, the artist then shapes the outline of the portrait before shaping the rest of the face which lacks distinct physical features. Viewers can follow her creative process step by step by looking at the edges of each stroke.
