Willy Verginer was born in Bressanone (IT) in 1957. He attended the Art Institute of Ortisei. Where he studied painting. After his studies, he worked in various wood carving workshops in Val Gardena. In the 80s, starting from the tradition of its valley. He tries to distance himself, by autonomous learning. Conventional methods. From 1984 to 1989, he taught at the Professional School of Sculpture in Selva (IT). In one of his first solo exhibitions, organized by Danilo Eccher at the Galleria Spatia in Bolzano. He showed abstract works, made of wood with a combination of natural materials.

90’s.

The 1990s were characterized by profitable exhibitions and the founding of the artistic group Trisma. Trained by Walter Moroder, Bruno Walpoth and Willy Verginer. Then ten years of research, crises and a less creative period ensued. In 2005, he exhibited at the Galleria Castello in Trento. Verginer radically changes style. He presents figurative sculptures developing an original plastic language. Associated with an acrylic paint with nuances of artificial colors.
