Sixteen critically acclaimed artists employ feminist, queer and decolonial strategies to explore the genre. The power and global impacts of patriarchy.

16 women artists.

Witch Hunt features the work of 16 mid-career women artists from 13 countries, who use feminist strategies. Queer and Decolonial to investigate current and historical political events. Social conditions and artistic legacies neglected or suppressed. The artists have demonstrated their decades-long commitment to feminist creative practice as a subversive methodology. Expansive and often collaborative. Together, their works provide an opportunity to examine ideas. Raise awareness and encourage dialogue on pressing contemporary issues. Such as the body and its vulnerabilities. Women’s rights and representation. The erasure of women’s contributions to movements and critical histories. The impact of surveillance technologies. Environmental justice. The queering of political discourse. Imperative that feminist practice be inclusive and intersectional. And finally, the power of collective action.

15 projects.

Witch Hunt’s 15 projects use a variety of mediums. Painting, sculpture, video, photography, sound and performance. Systematically defending the value of a critical feminist perspective in the subject. The production and presentation of contemporary art. Witch Hunt questions how artistic practices informed by feminist ideologies can significantly amplify debates within contemporary culture and politics. The projects in the exhibition constitute an art of resistance, disrupting cultural discourse and proposing new ways of thinking. Also, to implement change at a time of suffering. Unprecedented upheavals around the world.
